CARAMEL RAISIN PIE 
1 c. raisins
2 c. water
1 c. white Karo syrup
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 c. evaporated milk
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. butter

Put raisins in water in saucepan and cook until nearly cooked dry. Then add syrup and cook 3 to 5 minutes longer. Mix yolks with flour and sugar. Remove mixture from heat, add milk and quickly pour egg mixture in. Cook until thick. Add vanilla and butter. Make meringue and bake in 9" pie pan at 400 degrees for 10 minutes until light brown.

MERINGUE:

3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
6 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
