ANGEL BISCUITS 
1 pkg. dry yeast or 1 cake yeast
1/2 c. warm water
5 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
3 tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. vegetable shortening
2 c. buttermilk

Dissolve yeast in the warm water. Mix the dry ingredients together. Cut in the shortening. Add the buttermilk and yeast mixture. Work dough only until well moistened. Cover and refrigerate to use as needed. Pat or roll out to 1/2" thick on floured surface. Bake on a lightly greased sheet in a 400 degree oven until browned, about 12 minutes.
