CARAMEL POPCORN | |
5 quarts popped corn 1/2 tsp. salt 1 cup butter 2 cups brown sugar 1/2 cup dark or light corn syrup 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 cup peanuts (optional) 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 tsp. Wilton's clear butter flavoring (optional) Combine salt, butter, brown sugar and syrup. Boil for 5 minutes. Add baking soda and stir; pour hot mixture over popped corn, distributing it evenly and stirring well. (If using peanuts, add to pan with popcorn before adding syrup.) Bake in a preheated 250°F oven for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes; let cool and store in airtight container. |
