JOAN'S PIZZA 
1 pkg. fresh yeast
2 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. salt
3 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. shortening
6 c. sifted flour

Pour the 2 cups boiling water into a mixing bowl. Add sugar; stir and let cool until lukewarm. Add crumbled yeast. Let stand 5 minutes. Add half the flour and 1 tablespoon salt to mixture and stir until smooth. Add remaining flour and stir. Turn out on floured pastry cloth and knead lightly. Put into a greased bowl and let rise until doubled in size. Turn out on greased cookie sheet or pizza pan with raised edge. Pull out gently to cover pan. Top with your favorite toppings. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

PIZZA TOPPING:

1 lb. pork sausage
1/4 tsp. sweet basil
1/4 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
1 1/2 c. grated Mozzarella cheese
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese

Brown sausage; drain off grease. Add seasonings. Spread dough with 1/2 of tomato paste; cover with sausage and mushrooms. Sprinkle Mozzarella, then the rest of the tomato paste. Top with Parmesan cheese.
