PLAIN DOUGHNUTS | |
3 tbsp. butter 1 c. sugar 2 beaten eggs 3 3/4 c. sifted flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla Cream the butter, add sugar gradually and cream until light. Stir in beaten egg. Mix and sift flour, baking powder, salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Stir in vanilla. Chill thoroughly in refrigerator. Roll out dough 1/3 inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut with floured cutters. Fry in hot deep oil (375 degrees) until brown, turning once. Drain. Makes about 3 dozen. |
