LEMON CREME BARS 
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1 tsp. lemon rind, grated
2/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup quick-cooking oats, uncooked
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F if using a glass dish).

In a small bowl combine sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice and rind; set aside.

In large mixer bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until fluffy; add flour, oats, baking powder and salt. Mix until crumbly. Press half of the oat crumb mixture into bottom of a lightly greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Then spread with lemon/milk mixture. Stir spices into remaining crumb mixture; sprinkle evenly over lemon layer.

Bake 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Chill, then cut into bars.

Makes 2 to 3 dozen bars.
