1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
3 c. quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 c. nut meats
1/2 c. shredded coconut

Cream shortening, sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift soda, salt, and flour and add. Add oatmeal, nut meats, and coconut. Roll dough into roll. Chill and slice with sharp knife. Bake at 375 degrees about 10 minutes. Yields 5 dozen.
