1 c. shortening
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. stewed or plumped raisins
1 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. cold coffee
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well and beat all until light and fluffy. Add dry ingredients alternately with coffee. Beat well. Mix in vanilla, nuts and raisins.
