LASAGNA 
SAUCE:

1 lb. Italian sausage or hamburger
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp. white basil
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 lb. can (2 cups) whole tomatoes
2 (6 oz.) can (1 1/3 c.) tomato paste
Green pepper (optional)
Oregano
Garlic salt

CHEESE MIXTURE:

1 1/2 c. cottage cheese
1/4 c. grated parmesan
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
1 beaten egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 lb. mozzarella cheese sliced very thin

Brown meat slowly, spoon off excess fat. Add next 5 ingredients, simmer uncovered 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook noodles in large amount of boiling salted water until tender. Drain and rinse then place half of noodles in 13x9x2 baking dish. Spread half of cheese mixture, add half of mozzarella cheese and half of the meat sauce. Repeat layers. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. If refrigerated bake 15 minutes longer. Allow to stand for 15 minutes before cutting. Serves 12. Can use Prego sauce instead of making sauce.
