BANANA, WALNUT BREAD 
1 3/4 c. plain flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening/butter
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 c. mashed ripe banana
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Place all ingredients, except last 2, in a large mixing bowl. With electric mixer, beat until smooth and creamy. Add bananas and nuts, mixing in with wooden spoon. Place in a lightly greased and floured 8x4x2 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-65 minutes or until a skewer inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove from pan.
