2 lbs. ground chuck Green pepper, chopped 3 stalks celery, chopped 1 tbsp. sugar 1 c. grated sharp Cheddar 1 c. grated American cheese 1 med. onion, chopped 15 1/2 oz. Ragu sauce 1 lb. lg. lasagna noodles 1 c. grated Mozzarella cheese Brown meat, onion, pepper and celery until all pink is gone in heavy skillet. Vegetables are soft. Drain excess grease from pan. Add sauce and sugar and let simmer about 15 minutes. Meanwhile cook noodles. Drain well and run under cold water to prevent stickiness. Set aside. In large 10x14 inch greased pan, spread about 1 cup of the prepared sauce evenly on bottom layer with noodles, Cheddar, American cheese and sauce. Repeat layering ending with sauce. Sprinkle Mozzarella evenly on top. Cover with foil. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove foil. Bake 10-15 minutes or until brown. Let stand 10 minutes. Cut into squares. 8 to 10 servings. |
