CRANBERRY DROPS 
1/4 c. shortening, softened
3/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
3 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. grated orange peel
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
3/4 c. chopped cranberries

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 2 large cookie sheets. In large bowl cream shortening and sugar. Beat in milk, vanilla, egg and orange peel. Add dry mixture just until combined.

Carefully fold in nuts and cranberries. Drop batter by rounded teaspoonfuls on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake 10-12 minutes. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen.
