DUTCH APPLE BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. chopped raw apple
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. sugar

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Add apples, flour, soda, and nuts. Mix milk, vinegar, salt, and vanilla; add to batter. Batter will be stiff.

Pour into greased loaf pan. Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
