CINNAMON FAN TANS 
3 tbsp. sugar
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. each cream of tartar & salt
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk

Combine dry ingredients, cut in shortening as for pastry. Add milk. Knead gently 20 times on floured board. Roll dough into a 10"x12" rectangle. Brush with 2 tablespoons melted butter. Sprinkle with mixture of 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Cut lengthwise into 5 strips then stack them all on one. Cut into 12 (1") pieces. Place cut side down in well greased muffin pans. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. Yield: 1 dozen.
