TEXAS CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. cocoa, rounded
2/3 c. water
2 c. flour, sifted
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda, rounded
2 tsp. vanilla

Melt in a heavy saucepan the butter, cocoa and water. Blend together the dry ingredients and combine with the cocoa mixture. Mix together the eggs, buttermilk, soda and vanilla; blend with the cake mixture.

Pour into a slightly greased and floured 9 x 13 inch cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

ICING FOR TEXAS CHOCOLATE CAKE:

1 stick butter
3 heaping tbsp. cocoa
3-4 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. chopped nuts

Melt butter and cocoa in a heavy saucepan. Add milk and heat. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well and pour over cake.
