WALNUT BALLS 
1 c. butter
1/4 c. granulated sugar
2 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Powdered sugar

Cream butter in large bowl, add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Stir in flour, add vanilla and beat until smooth. Stir in walnuts. Form into balls about the size of a quarter; place on greased baking sheet.

Bake at 300 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes watching carefully to avoid overbaking. The cookies should not be allowed to brown. When done, roll in powdered sugar and store in airtight container. Freezes beautifully.

Yield 60 to 65 cookies.
