HOMEMADE EGG DUMPLINGS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tbsp. shortening
3 eggs
3/4 c. milk
Salt to taste

Combine flour and shortening and cut in shortening until well blended. Mix in eggs, milk, and salt. Dough will be rubbery. With a teaspoon drop into boiling liquid; cook for 15 minutes. These dumplings are good for numerous dishes (apple dumplings, chicken dumplings, etc.)
