SEVEN LAYER SALAD 
1 head lettuce, broken, not cut
1/2 c. onion, cut fine
1 sm. can drained peas or 10 oz. frozen peas, cooked and drained
1 pt. mayonnaise
2 tbsp. sugar
Grated sharp Cheddar cheese
10 slices bacon, cooked crisp (bacon bits can be used)

Layer in shallow 9 x 13 inch dish in order given. Spread mayonnaise over top; sprinkle with sugar, then cheese and finely crumble bacon. Do not toss - cut into squares to serve. Refrigerate, covered, at least 8 hours. Serves 12.
