GRANDMOTHER'S GINGER BREAD 
1 c. lard
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. Brer Rabbit molasses
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. additional boiling water

Mix sugar and lard. Add eggs, spices and molasses. Add some flour and soda water. Add remaining flour and boiling water. Bake at 350 degrees until test pick comes out clean.
