PECAN TOFFEE BARS 
2 sticks butter
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. flour
8 sq. semi-sweet chocolate
64 pecan halves

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease jelly roll pan. Beat butter and sugar until mixed. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in flour. Spread dough in pan. Bake 25 minutes until lightly browned.

While crust is baking, melt chocolate. Remove crust from oven and spread chocolate. Place pecans on top, cut into bars while still warm. Store in cool place. Makes 5 dozen.
