CHEWY PECAN TOFFEE BARS 
2/3 c. (1 1/4 sticks) butter, softened
1/3 c. Aunt Jemima syrup (any flavor)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. all-purpose flour

FILLING:

3/4 c. Aunt Jemima syrup
1/3 c. (5 1/3 tbsp.) butter
2 c. coarsely chopped pecans
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c. cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly grease 9x13 inch baking pan. Combine crust ingredients. Mix well. Pat evenly into greased pan. Bring syrup, brown sugar, and butter to boil. Boil for 2 minutes. Add cream. Return to boil. Remove from heat. Stir in pecans and vanilla. Spread over crust. Bake 25 minutes or until browned and bubbly. Cool. Cut into bars. 3 dozen.
