CHOCOLATE "LOVELIGHT" CHIFFON
CAKE
 
2 eggs, separated
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/3 c. sifted cake flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. oil
1 c. buttermilk
2 sq. chocolate, melted

Beat egg whites until frothy. Beat in 1/2 cup sugar. Beat until stiff and glossy. Sift remaining sugar, flour, soda and salt in another bowl. Add oil and half of the buttermilk. Beat 1 minute, scraping bowl constantly. Add remaining buttermilk, egg yolks and chocolate. Beat 1 minute more, scraping bowl. Fold in meringue. Bake layers 30 to 35 minutes. 350 oven.
