1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. sweet milk and 2 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/6 c. oil
4-5 c. flour

Mix ingredients in order. Spoon into doughnut maker and fry in hot shortening, turning once - drain on paper towels. Cool before storing. Makes about 3 dozen.
