CABBAGE MEAT BALLS 
2 lbs. head of cabbage
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1 egg
1 onion, cut fine
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 pt. boiling water
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1 (303) size can tomatoes

Separate cabbage leaves and boil 5 minutes. Mix together meat, water, egg and bread crumbs. Form 2 inch meatballs. Place on one cabbage leaf, roll tightly and stick with toothpick. Caramelize sugar in skillet, pour into boiling water, add onions, tomatoes, salt, pepper and vinegar.

When it comes to a boil, put in cabbage rolls, cook for 1 hour. Makes 10 to 12 meatballs.
