PEANUT PATTIES 
4 c. sugar
1 c. white syrup
1 c. milk
1/2 c. water
4 or 5 c. raw peanuts
Few drops red coloring

Bring to a boil the first four ingredients. Add half the peanuts. Boil for a few minutes and add the rest of peanuts. Stirring constantly while cooking. Let boil until it gets to soft ball stage on candy thermometer. Remove from heat and add red food color and beat until it starts thickening. It will look sugary around the edges first. Spoon on buttered counter top with two spoons (one to push off). You don't have to stir constantly but a lot. When it starts getting ready you have to spoon quickly and do the edges first.
