ONION CELESTE 
2 tbsp. butter
2 lg. Bermuda onions
1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, grated
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 c. milk
8 slices buttered dry French bread or 1/2 box toasted seasoned croutons

Saute onions in butter until soft, 20 to 30 minutes. Spoon into 7 x 11 inch or 8 x 8 inch baking dish. Sprinkle grated cheese on top. Salt and pepper. Heat sauce and milk in same fry pan. Pour over cheese, stir lightly. Top with bread or croutons. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until lightly brown. Use 9 x 13 inch pan for double recipe.
