CREAM OF BROCCOLI SOUP | |
6 c. water 1 (10 oz.) pkg. chopped broccoli 2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. MSG 2 tsp. white pepper 1 tsp. garlic powder 8 oz. shredded Swiss cheese 1 c. milk 1 c. cream 1/4 c. butter 1/3 c. flour 1/2 c. cold water In a 3 quart saucepan, bring water to a boil, add broccoli and onion and boil for 10 to 12 minutes. Add seasonings and shredded cheese, stir until cheese melts. Add milk, cream and butter, stir and heat until boiling. Slowly add flour to 1/2 cup cold water, stir until smooth. Slowly add flour mixture to hot mixture, stirring rapidly. Cook and stir until soup is the consistency of heavy cream. Serves 8 to 10. |
