CHOCOLATE CHIP CHIFFON CAKE 
3/4 c. cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
6 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
2 sq. shaved unsweetened chocolate
6 egg yolks, beaten

Start with ingredients at room temperature. Sift flour 3 times with baking powder and salt. In separate bowl beat egg whites to soft peaks, add sugar and beat. Fold in shaved chocolate. Fold in beaten egg yolks and vanilla. Fold in sifted dry ingredients. Pour into three 8 inch wax paper lined pans.

CREAMY FILLING:

2 c. milk
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. bread flour
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Scald milk. Add sugar, flour and salt. Cook until thick. Cool. Cream butter and powdered sugar. Add cooled filling and vanilla.
