PFEFFERNIESSE COOKIES 
1 c. honey
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. very strong coffee (the stronger the better, use hot water and instant
coffee)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. star anise
1 c. Crisco or 2 cubes butter
3 eggs
3 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. all-spice
1/2 tsp. black pepper
9 heaping c. flour

Mix all ingredients. Make a soft dough with your hand.

Let set in a cool place overnight. Shape into the size of walnuts. Bake 375 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes. Cool. Roll in a powder sugar glaze icing then roll in dry powdered sugar. Allow to dry, store in airtight container, mellows with age.
