ELEPHANT EARS 
2 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. water
Oil for frying

TOPPING:

1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Blend first 6 ingredients. Add water. Shape into a ball. Divide into 10 even balls of dough. Roll out into 10 inch circle. Dip in hot oil until golden brown on one side. Turn over and do the same. Remove from oil and put on a cookie sheet. Butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture.
