THE ULTIMATE CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. unsifted flour
3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. mayonnaise (not salad dressing)
1 1/3 c. water

FROSTING:

6 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
6-7 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Grease and flour bottoms of two 9 inch layer cake pans. Mix first 4 ingredients; set aside.

In a large bowl with mixer at high speed, beat the next 3 ingredients for 3 minutes or until light and fluffy. At low speed, beat in mayonnaise. Add flour mixture in 4 additions, alternately with water, beginning and ending with flour. Pour into pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cool in pans 10 minutes. Remove and cool on racks. Frost.

Frosting: Beat butter to soften. Add the cocoa and sugar alternately with the milk. Beat to spreading consistency. Add vanilla. Beat. Makes 2 3/4 cups frosting.
