EASY SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs, well beaten
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together the sugar and shortening. Add well beaten eggs. Add vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Form into balls. Dip tops in sugar and press flat with bottom of glass which has been dipped in sugar. Use colored sugar for Christmas cookies. Bake in approximately 350 degrees until light golden color. Do not overbake.
