KIFTA POTATO (MEAT AND POTATO DISH) | |
3 lbs. ground beef or lamb 6 to 8 potatoes, peeled 1 or 2 lg. tomatoes, slices 3/4 c. parsley, chopped (or dried) 1/3 c. butter Salt, pepper, Allspice 1 c. water Mix meat, parsley and season to taste. Spread in bottom of pan to about 1 inch thickness. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes to one hour or until medium doneness. Spread potatoes and then tomatoes on top; dot with butter. Add 1 cup water. Cover and bake another 1/2 hour or 45 minutes until potatoes are done. Put under broiler for about 5 to 10 minutes to brown potatoes and tomatoes slightly. Serve with pita bread and salad. Serves 6. |
