3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1/2 c. nuts, if desired

Cream butter and sugar. Blend in well beaten eggs and bananas; mix well. Mix and sift flour, salt and soda. Add flour and sour milk alternately to first mixture. Stir in nuts. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees. Makes 1 loaf.
