COMPANY BRUNCH CAKE | |
1 c. butter 3 c. sifted all purpose flour 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 4 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. salt 1 c. brown sugar 2 eggs, well beaten 1 c. buttermilk TOPPING: 1/4 c. each granulated and brown sugar 6 tsp. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. butter Cut butter into sifted dry ingredients and brown sugar same as for pie crust. Add eggs and half of buttermilk; mix until dry ingredients are moistened. Add remaining buttermilk and turn into a buttered and floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Mix ingredients for topping until a fine crumb stage is reached. Sprinkle over cake batter; bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Serves 12 to 16. |
