SOFT GINGER COOKIES | |
1/4 c. sugar Nearly 1 c. butter or shortening 1 c. molasses 5 tbsp. cold water 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ginger in flour Mix in enough flour to make a stiff dough. Roll quite thick. Bake until done. FROSTING: For each white of an egg take 9 teaspoons sugar and just mix in bowl. Do not beat. Set in warm place until warm. Then beat with rotary egg beater. When cookies are cool, frost but let stand until frosting sets. Keeps soft and tastes very good. |
