SUMMER APPLE & PLUM CRISP 
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 lb. butter
2 lb. Granny Smith apples (about 6)
1/2 lb. red plums (about 3)
1 tbsp. cornstarch
Whipped cream

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, 1/2 cup of the sugar, salt and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Peel apples and cut into thin slices. Slice plums.

Combine fruit with remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of the nutmeg and cornstarch in a 9 inch baking pan or dish. Sprinkle crumb topping over the fruit. Bake until top is golden and fruit is tender, 50-60 minutes. Serve warm or cooled. Top with a dollop of whipped cream if desired.
