APPLE FRITTERS 
1 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. milk
1 egg
1 tbsp. cooking oil
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. apples (cut into sm. squares)

Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Combine milk, eggs and cooking oil. Stir in the cut up apples. Add milk mixture; apples to the flour mixture, stir just to moist. (Do not over beat.)

Drop batter by tablespoonfuls into deep, hot fat (375 degrees). Fry for 3 - 3 1/2 minutes per side, turning only once. Drain on paper towel. Serve hot with sugar or honey. Makes 16 fritters.
