WILD RICE CASSEROLE | |
3/4 c. wild rice 1/4 c. white rice (raw) 1 tsp. salt or less 1 lb. sausage or ground beef (or both) 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced 1/4 c. celery, chopped 1/2 c. onions, chopped 2 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. soy sauce 1 can mushroom soup 3/4 or less c. sour cream or yogurt Pepper or hot sauce Cook rice in 2 cups water to which salt has been added. Saute and drain sausage or beef. Saute in 2 tablespoons butter the mushrooms, celery and onions. Mix all ingredients and place in buttered casserole. Bake 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees. Garnish with chopped parsley and slivered almonds. Serves 8. |
