CHERRY-NUT CAKE 
6 eggs
1 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
4 c. flour
1 lb. chopped dates
1 lg. bottle Towie cherries
1 sm. bottle (1 1/2 oz.) lemon extract
1 qt. chopped nuts
1 tsp. baking powder

Pour lemon extract over nuts and set aside. Drain cherries - save juice - this is your liquid for cake. Cut cherries in 4 pieces.

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well each time. Add baking powder to flour and stir in cake alternately with cherry juice. Add dates, cherry pieces and nuts; fold in.
