2 c. Crisco 9 c. sifted plain flour 1 tbsp. salt 1/4 c. double acting baking powder Combine flour, salt and baking powder. Stir well. Add Crisco, use finger tips or pastry blender. Blend flour and Crisco until it resembles coarse corn meal. Now it is ready to use or store in a closed cannister on your pastry shelf. When making biscuits use what you need and add milk or buttermilk. Roll out, cut and bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. |
