Egg Dumplings for Soup (Kluski)

 MoJo (United States) says:
I am so glad I found this recipe. Hopefully these are the dumplings my dad remembers. I only used flour added an extra egg and only a little bit of water. Mixed it up with my hands to be able to tell when it was ready. I put them in homemade chicken soup after the fluffy dumplings were cooked. Almost done!

I make these all the time. I only use the eggs and flour. Sometimes a little water.

My mother made Kluskis. Dad (English) called them sinkers. Besides serving them in soups, she had a dish she called thickened milk and would drop the Kluskis into a pot of warm milk on the stove, careful not to ruin the milk.

Thanks so much. Daughter wanted chicken soup like grandma's use to be. These dumplings were just what I wanted. Use rest of dumplings and fried them with a little butter as a side dish with my meatloaf. YUM!

My mom used to make these without water. She beat the eggs & salt, then added flour til it was 'just right'. Yummy in chicken soup!

You can also roll this recipe out and using your pizza cutter make noodles. (Our family calls them sliders).
