THE BEST CHOCOLATE ANGEL FOOD CAKE | |
1 c. cake flour 1/2 c. cocoa 1 1/2 c. egg whites 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. water 1 tsp. cream of tartar 2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Sift flour and cocoa together. Add salt and water to egg whites and beat until frothy before adding tartar. Add sugar to whites and beat as for making meringue. (Feel meringue between thumb and finger to be sure sugar is dissolved). Fold in cocoa-flour mixture. Bake at 325 degrees until done, about 45 minutes (check with a toothpick). |
