Make pastry for double crust 9-inch pie.
Mix 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, grated rind of 1 lemon, t/1 teaspoon allspice, 4 cups of peeled, sliced green tomatoes, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 3 tablespoons butter.
Line a pie pan with pie dough. Sprinkle a little of the mixture of the first four ingredients over the bottom of the pie shell. Arrange the tomato slices, a layer at a time; cover with a part of the mixture, lemon juice, and a dot of butter on each slice.
Keep layering until you reach the top of the pie pan. Cover with a latticed top and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
