SNOW FLURRIES 
1 c. (each) sugar, powdered sugar
1 tbsp. finely chopped lemon peel
1/2 c. (each) soft butter, Crisco
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. (each) almond extract, salt, baking powder
3 1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. thick jam (apricot?)

Cream together first 8 ingredients; sift dry ingredients and add. Chill dough 1 hour. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. On floured board, roll dough to 1/8 inch thick. Cut with 3 inch star or snowflake cutter; bake on ungreased cookie sheets 8 to 10 minutes until lightly browned; cool on rack.

Sandwich 2 cookies together with 1/2 teaspoon jam (or powdered sugar frosting with lemon flavoring) with points of stars off angles. Sift powdered sugar generously over assembled cookies; let set 30 minutes.
