BON BON TEA CAKES 
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
granulated sugar, for rolling

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Combine butter, light brown sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Mix in flour and salt. Add chocolate chips and nuts (if desired). Form into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes.

Roll gently while hot in granulated sugar, cookies will be soft but firm up when cooled.

Note: These do not brown or flatten like a traditional chocolate chip cookie.
