MOM'S SWEET ROLLS | |
5 c. liquid (hot water or warm milk) 3 tsp. salt 1 c. sugar 1 c. shortening Combine and cool to lukewarm. Soak 3 packages of yeast to 1/4 cup liquid and add to above mixture. 10-12 cups flour added 2-3 cups at a time, and add 2 eggs. Beat hard, adding flour until soft and pliable. Oil ball of dough. Let rise until 1 1/2 times original size. CAUTION: Use only flour you need. Don't get too heavy dough. Let rolls rise until light. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until done. All ovens and flour are different. EXPERIMENT. Can make cinnamon rolls or even raised doughnuts. |
