1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. soft butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. M&M'S®
1 c. chopped nuts

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix sugars, shortening, butter, vanilla and eggs in large bowl; stir in flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in candies and nuts. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet. Press 3 or 4 additional candies in each cookie if desired. Bake until light brown, 9-11 minutes. Cool slightly. Remove from cookie sheet.

Makes 3 dozen cookies.
