JEWISH APPLE CAKE | |
6 large apples 2 tsp. cinnamon 5 tbsp. sugar Peel and slice 6 large apples. Mix together with 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 5 tablespoons sugar. Let stand. 3 c. sifted all-purpose flour 2 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. vegetable oil 4 eggs, beaten 1/2 tsp. salt 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 tsp. baking powder juice of 1 orange -OR- 1/4 c. orange juice Mix above ingredients to make batter. Place a layer of batter and a layer of apples. Keep alternating ending with a layer of apples on top. Bake in well greased tube or Bundt pan at 350°F for 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours.
