BASEBALL STEW 
1 1/2 lb. stew beef
1 med. onion, diced
4 carrots, sliced
5 potatoes, sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 (12 oz.) can V-8 juice

Cut meat in small pieces, cutting off fat. Put meat in bottom of greased casserole. Add layer of onion, layer on carrots, and layer of potatoes. Add salt and pepper. Sprinkle with sugar and cornstarch. Pour V-8 juice over top and cover casserole with foil. Bake at 250 degrees for 4 hours.
